Buyer Evaluations

I could not locate a complete lot of evaluations of this item when I was purchasing so I'm making it a point to review it for future shoppers.
Initial factors very first. There are a few sites that state that this is a CD-R player. I can assure you that there is NO CD player on this unit. It is strictly SD card, USB, and radio.
I also identified one particular owners manual that stated how to get rid of the detachable face. well there is no "detachable face" its a one particular piece unit.
The initially point I noticed when I pulled it out of the box is that it is very light. (I'm thinking cheaply created) it might be yet that it just does not have a cd player in there to weigh it down i do not know.
Immediately after a couple days of use, I have decided that it is pretty cheaply created, the volume knob is grinding and i can really feel considerable resistance on components of the rotation. It is also kind of loose or wabbly. (technical term)
One other downside I've located is that I cannot search tracks or directories in USB mode like I thought I was going to be able to do. So now I've got like 600 songs on a flash drive plugged into it and the only factor I can do is skip ahead by 1 track or skip ahead by ten tracks at a time. It does list what the song title is and the directory that it really is in but I can not search via the directories at all.
There are a couple various owners manuals for this thing. 1 is on pyles internet site, but it is distinct than the a single that came with my unit. The one on plyles web-sites gives detailed intructions on how to search by means of directories, (which does not operate) and on my manual there is no indication of how to do so.
But when i press the button to search for tracks i do get a "trk srch" display, but when i turn the volume knob to really search via them (as per pyles website) the only point that occurs is the volume goes up :)
It appears to be a decent unit for the price. $73 plus shipping so i cannot complain too substantially. radio and climate band function as described. I haven't plugged an sd card in there but so i can't comment on that function.
if you have queries prior to getting and want an actual owners answer e mail me at foehammer at citcom net
I purchased this unit mainly for the "marine" aspect of it for the reason that it's going in my jeep wrangler that usually sees some stray water inside of the car. we'll see how it holds up.

I only gave this unit one star due to the fact I could not give it NO stars.
This unit failed inside a month of installing it on my boat. At that point, it was a bit dinged up from the installation approach, and I had currently disposed of the packing it came in. Soon after it got wet when rain blew into the bridge during a thunderstorm one night, I heard a thing topside and went up to investigate. The radio was ON and PLAYING, possibly resurrected by the lightning.
"It's aliiiive! It really is alliiiiiivve!" (apologies to Dr Frankenstein)
This unit is cheaply manufactured, the knob is really insubstantial and the readout is unreadable in just the tiniest bit of sunlight. Besides, the display is monochrome. I did not feel everyone created these anymore. 1 big gripe: It will not let you manually tune in stations, which indicates that if a station's signal is not honestly powerful, the radio will scan correct on past.
At this point, I can't control the majority of functions from the front-panel buttons, only by way of the remote, so it functions -- sort of.
Do not decide to buy a single of these for use in any sort of "harsh" environment, which quite possibly also contains any highway car that might get parked in the sun or into which a small rain will probably fall. Pay the extra bucks and get a superior unit!
