I use to have a pioneer avic z1 that was $2k or so new till it was stolen out of my automobile. For $200 bucks this is not a replacement of what that did, but it is fantastic for the price tag. The television clarity is decent, but you improved have some tinted windows and make the brightness 100% to see anything at day time. Rather capable of viewing from several angles and at night time, competes with mentioned pioneer. the radio operates fine and i use the remote so i can get to my presets and turn off the display. The display is very blue and fairly annoying and low-cost hunting. The touchscreen works properly, the BT is great as it loads up the telephone once the auto is started and will let you to play pandora wirelessly. Sound is excellent for music, the eq doesnt appear to give to considerably range, but it did make me recognize i have a stock subwoofer in the trunk. there are a couple of input/output cables for significantly more tv's/ps3 etc. that is great. ive yet to use any of the other possibilities.
I suggest this for men and women who would like television (and add some headrest tvs), BT, and not want to spend for the high end equipment. If i had the funds and a garage once again, I would go with a pioneer, but considering the fact that what I have is street parking and lots of bills, this does a wonderful job.
PS - Make positive you buy the harness and installation kit proper away so you dont have to go about shopping for it later, like this one dumb guy i know
I have had this item some time now,it IS essentially a fine item,bluetooth connects seamlessly,but do note,if you have a password and or lock on your phone you will have to re connect manually everytime.I would suggest the Metra harness kit (minor study at the Metra internet site will identify your needs quickly),also get the surround kit as well,mine is in a 2006 F150 Lariat,wife enjoys watching motion pictures when we go on lengthy journeys,dont advocate it to absolutely everyone but earth the brake wire to the unit or neagative and will play although driving.Just saying is all.Now it IS a fundamental unit so dont expect to download photographs or the like,no background options and boring display when in radio or cd mode,but ipod works pretty effectively as do the headrest monitors those you can buy from Amazon also at a way low value for a pair,equally relatively easy to install..................to finish,for the price point it is a excellent basic or starter unit.You cannot integrate a cd changer with this unit,it is developed for single use,having said that there is always methods to add on,I run a multi DVD changer on this and will add a Game Cube also.
November 27th 2011.......................This is an update on this unit,this now lives in a second automobile and is nonetheless going powerful,because day one I have had no troubles with this unit,I do ALOT of off roading and it takes alot to make this unit "skip",still plays dvd's just fine,still running 2x headrest monitors as well,again,with no complications no longer have a game cube on this unit,no other purpose than its on loan to my buddy who has two squabbling sons and she appreciates the silence from the backseatThere is only the SLIGHTEST of ghosting on quickly paced games, barely noticable............still run the dvd changer on this unit also,I stand by my initial assessment,this IS a simple unit but reading reviews of much higher $$$$ units,this was and still is a Excellent purchase.
